The Executive Director of Facilities is responsible for the administration of facilities and security operations which includes: maintenance of building structures, plumbing, electrical, food service and HVAC equipment; custodial services; grounds and landscaping; ice and snow removal; fleet management; energy management; and s security and parking. This is a full- time, 1.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities. Supervises maintenance of buildings, grounds, parking lots, walkways and campus beautification. Administers and implements preventative maintenance program including grounds, buildings, structures, plumbing, electrical, food service equipment, HVAC equipment, ice and snow removal, fleet management and other facility components. Measures the performance of the department and takes corrective action when necessary. This includes conducting and analyzing surveys and determining the effectiveness of outsourced services in comparison to in- house services. Manages staff in the areas of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, custodial, vehicle maintenance, general maintenance, landscaping and security.
Plans and schedules work activities, projects and tasks for direct report staff, and ensures that staff is current with job- required safety training. Supervision includes making hiring and termination recommendations, conducting performance evaluations and carrying out disciplinary actions when necessary. Writes policies, procedures and procedural guidelines for Facilities department. Evaluates facilities district- wide to establish facilities- related departmental goals and to determine strategic goals and tactics for the College’s Strategic Plan. Creates periodic and routine reports and analyses for presentation to staff, faculty, administration, and the District Governing Board. Represents the college and the department in procedural committees, such as the College Safety and Security Committee and Facilities Committee and may serve as chairperson for committees. Creates and maintains department budget.
Maintains inventory control system for equipment and supplies, directs purchase of equipment, materials and parts. Monitors and evaluates utility services including electricity, natural gas and water.
Administers building and service contractual agreements with outside vendors related to custodial, energy management system and maintenance. Assists the Director of Purchasing and Auxiliary Services in developing Requests for Proposal (RFPs) or Requests for Bid (RFBs) as necessary for all contracts and coordinates scheduling and logistics of work.
